Whether you’re going for an evening run, cycling through the countryside, exploring somewhere new or simply want to stay connected with your family, FamilyCam allows you to share what you see and get support when you need it. But with the ability to capture and share video comes responsibility.
We believe that personal safety and privacy should always go hand in hand. That is why FamilyCam has been designed with privacy in mind from the very beginning.
Using FamilyCam responsibly
Just like a smartphone or action camera, FamilyCam can be used to record your experiences and surroundings.
When using a camera in public, it is important to respect the privacy of others. People may occasionally appear in the background when you are recording your run, bike ride or another activity. However, we encourage users to be mindful of other people’s privacy and to avoid deliberately filming individuals without a good reason. You should also be careful when sharing recordings with others.
Privacy by Design
We believe privacy should not be something you have to think about only after buying a product. It should be built into the technology itself. That is why FamilyCam follows several key Privacy by Design principles.
No continuous recording
FamilyCam does not continuously record everything around you. Recording or live streaming is only activated when you explicitly choose to use these functions. This gives you control over when and why video is captured or shared.
Clear recording indication
A visible LED indicator clearly shows when the camera is active. This helps make the use of the camera more transparent to both the wearer and the people around them.
You stay in control
FamilyCam is designed to connect you with the people you trust. You decide when to activate the camera, when to send an alarm and who can receive your live video, audio or location. FamilyCam is not a public livestreaming platform. Its purpose is to provide personal support and connection when you need it.
Secure storage and controlled access
Your recordings are securely stored and protected. Access is controlled so that your personal recordings are not openly available to others. You remain in control of your own content and the people you choose to share it with.
Your recordings are yours
FamilyCam is built to support you — not to turn your personal moments into someone else’s data.
Your recordings are not intended to be used for advertising or sold to third parties. You should always know how your data is handled and who has access to it.
